Driver, 35, killed and boy, six, fighting for life after crash in Victoria

A driver has died and a six-year-old boy is fighting for life after a horror crash in south east Victoria.

Three cars carrying seven people collided in Glengarry, in Gippsland, at 3.49pm on Tuesday.

The 35-year-old driver of one of the vehicles died at the scene, while his six-year-old passenger was airlifted to hospital with critical upper chest injuries.

The 22-year-old driver of one of the other cars was taken to Traralgon Public Hospital with minor injuries. He is assisting police with their inquiries.

None of the four people in the third vehicle were hurt.

Pictures from the scene show one of the vehicles was flipped onto its roof.

“The exact cause of the collision is yet to be determined and the investigation is ongoing,” Victoria Police said.
